After posting Powerful Submission, I received several compliments about the collar, so I decided to write a review, not because the company sent it to me for free (I paid full price), but because I am so impressed with the experience.

While looking for the right collar and wrist restraints online, I happened upon a review which pointed me to The Church of Sinvention.  Housed in a 135 year old church about two-hours west of Toronto, they have been making very high quality leather BDSM products for over 10 years. Their team of leather workers is lead by the Mother of Sinvention and Sister DisGrace. Yummy!

I may be a submissive, but I’m not into pain, so comfort was very high on my list of requirements. I went to many of the sex toy sites and their collars just didn’t seem to cut it, they looked flimsy and uncomfortable.  I didn’t want something cheap, where the leather was so thin that the rivets would break through with some tugging or where the edges would cut into my skin.

It was clear from browsing the Sinvention site that they are proud of the extra efforts they take in the quality of their gear. Their commitment to the best starts with sourcing leathers from North America or Europe for higher standards and and environmentally friendly tanning.

But it was the design of the Sinfully Soft Leather Collar and Sinfully Soft Leather Restraints that won me over. Seriously, just look at that purple suede!

The edges of the leather are rounded, the suede is two-ply heavy glove leather that feels so soft against my skin, and the top strap is made from English bridle leather. The gleaming locking buckle has smooth rounded edges and is made from nickle plated steel. The heavy D rings are welded and made of solid steel. This collar is built to last. All three pieces are made with exacting detail.

So they have gorgeous, high-quality stuff, but what if you need something a little different from their standard offering? Allergic to nickle? No problem, they’ll work with you to replace the hardware and rivets with brass, chrome, black powder coat or stainless steel.

For me, I wanted the width of the collar sized down. Their standard is 2?, but for my neck it would be too large. I contacted them and received prompt reply that they would gladly size it down to my requested 1.5?, making the black top strap proportionately narrower as well, at no extra cost or wait time.

From that first email through to questions about their privacy policy and their affiliate program (their quality really motivated me to have them as my first affiliate partner), everyone at Sinvention was pleasant, friendly, prompt and really made me feel that they cared and wanted my business. So refreshing in the times of poor customer service and anonymously rude order processing.
